Most other Thursday nights the National Pan Hellenic Council of the nine historically black fraternities and sororities on campus don’t demand much attention. Midnight Madness is a completely different story. Starting at 11:59 these nine organizations took command of the steps of Hatcher Graduate Library for their annual step show. Each organization in turn controlled the ‘stage’ for their time to declare what it takes to become a Delta, an Alpha, a Zeta. Louder and louder they chant their letters and louder and louder they stomp on the brick in perfectly planned strolls. The sense of community is clear, and the excitement of friends is contagious.
